“You're under no obligation to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago.”Alan Watts

YOUR ENVIRONMENT

You, your feelings, and your actions do not exist in isolation: I witness you within the context of your environment, including the influences of family, community, and society at large. As an LGBTQ advocate and cultural competency trainer for many years, I practice counseling with a sensitivity towards the impact of marginalization, oppression, and discrimination, as well as my own personal pledge of cultural humility.

YOUR DESIRES

You might like working with me if some of your desires are to:

  • Change how you feel and experience life on the inside, not just how you act.

  • Experience yourself as an active agent in your life, not a passive recipient of your circumstances;

  • Have a kinder relationship with yourself, feel worthy, and trust yourself more;

  • Show up fully and authentically in your relationships, while also maintaining boundaries;

  • Face traumatic experiences and family of origin issues in order to heal their impact on you;

  • Explore issues of identity and experiences of repression or oppression;

  • Reconnect to parts of yourself that feel missing or elusive;

  • Recover from loss, and move through grief;

  • Cope with and decrease anxiety, rumination, and indecision;

  • Examine addictive behaviors, begin/maintain recovery, or be in relationship with an addicted loved one.
